The Balloon Federation of America (BFA) has announced two camps for teens (age 13-18) for 2018. These camps immerse youth in the world of ballooning and not only give them hands on experience with hot air balloons, but also teach them about things such as weather and safety.
With only two camps in the country this year, competition for spaces may prove to be fierce. The 2018 camps are in
Albuquerque, New Mexico – July 7th – 12th, 2018; and
Waupaca, Wisconsin – June 25th-30th, 2018.
We’d love to see youth in the Carolinas, Tennessee and surrounding areas attend one of these camps. We will be announcing details for applying for our CBA scholarships very soon, but know that there are several scholarships available in our region and there is a strong commitment to help our youth who desire to attend these camps. Scholarships are also available on the national level. Scholarships cover tuition only…youth are available for their own transportation to the sites.
If you know youth that you think will be good candidates, encourage them to think about applying. Registration for the camps opens in March.

To continue to grow our sport and encourage its future, we commit to supporting our interested youth. Keep your eyes open for those that you can encourage to become more interested in ballooning….and start to talk to them about attending camp.
